Note: to comply fully with HD1004, Tradesman Alloy Towers with platform height over 4.0m need Ballast Weights added to achieve acceptable stability or alternatively must be tied-in securely to a solid structure at maximum 4.0m high, then again at maximum 2.0m intervals.
Ballast Weights are slotted onto the supplied spigot at the base of each stabiliser.

By securely tying the tower to a rigid structure or building it is possible to overcome the need for Ballast Weights.  However, ties must be substantial - do not tie with rope to downpipes or other insubstantial fittings!! 
Ties are normally made with sturdy wall anchors which expand in the brickwork and are linked to the tower with scaffold tubes & couplers.  Alternative methods such as tying to a stout beam braced across the inside of a window aperture are sometimes possible.
The first tie point should be at maximum 4.0m high, then again at maximum 2.0m intervals.
